The BROCKBANK-LANE MONTHLY SEQUENCE SCRIPT SERVICE
is the ONLY service of its kind in which the recognised British Prize Winning Dances are described in detail*. It is available to anyone requesting it - you do NOT have to be a Professional Teacher of Dancing to receive our Script Service.
Whenever possible*, we provide additional information for Man and a full description of the Lady's steps (which are not always just 'normal opposite'). This we hope makes our scripts less ambiguous and enables anyone who has not previously seen a particular dance to perform it accurately. (*copyright conditions permitting)
Our subscription year commences with the scripts from the I.S.T.D. Competition, which are normally distributed late February. Your subscription fee (currently £39.00 for U.K subscribers: Overseas Air Mail: Europe £46.00 Sterling: Outside Europe £52.00 Sterling) includes copies of scripts for all the recognised new Inventive Dances - normally 44 dances per year. Scripts are sent (roughly monthly) by 1st Class Post approximately 10 to 12 days after the script release date (Note: not always the same date as the Inventive Dance Competition) of the last competition to be included in an issue. Anyone joining our Service during the year will normally receive the issues back to the ISTD Competition.
Scripts of the New Inventive Dances are professionally printed on A5 size glossy semi-stiff card. These scripts are designed to be filed in special Ring Binders for which additional useful items are also available to help you quickly find any particular dance. The complete package makes a neat, easily referenced mine of information that an ever increasing number of Sequence Dancers are finding invaluable.
Individual scripts of older dances (not necessarily in our A5 format) are also available to any subscriber requiring them.
We can supply copies of most sequence dances ever invented.
‘HOT OFF THE PRESS’
An additional facility offered to our members is the 'Hot Off The Press' Service, whereby copies of the original recognised new Inventive Dance Scripts, as we receive them (not detailed for Man and Lady as in the Monthly Script Service) are regularly sent IMMEDIATELY by e-mail or 1st Class Post to any member requesting this Service.
The charge for the email service is £33.00 for the membership year payable in advance (reduced on a pro rata basis if you do not join e-mail HOP service at the beginning of our membership year). For the postal service the charge is 70p per script plus 1st class postage.
We would stress that the HOP Services are available ONLY to members of the Monthly Script Service.
We attend the majority of Inventive Dance Competitions and hence can usually advise on any initial problems with the HOP scripts.
