Guy Briggs

Guy started dancing in 2007, attending Jenian School of Dancing run by Jenifer and Ian Davison, in Wideopen near Newcastle upon Tyne, working his way through the Amateur Medal Syllabus until 2015.

In 2011, he joined the Dudman Social Formation Team, with this leading to 4 years participating in Social Sequence competitions, where he was trained by Lee Dudman.

Competitive dancing took a back seat whilst he acted as primary carer for his elderly parents, however he began working towards his professional qualification at Jenian. He qualified as an Associate in Ballroom with N.C.D.T.A in November 2017.

He is currently working towards further qualifications in Latin and Classical Sequence. Guy also decided to fulfill an ambition to enter Inventive competitions when Covid19 took the events online, winning the Classical Section of the B.D.C. event in August 2020 with the Honolulu Waltz. He is currently seeking a dance partner to join him to compete in future Inventive Dance competitions.
